This amount was spent on rendering safe the Civil Hospital, improving the ventilation in the Central School, and in alterations for making Police School Rooms.
A Work urgently needed for some years past owing to the increase of the native population in that District.
The old Drain were insufficient to carry the water during the rainy season.
